Job summary

MFK Recruitment is seeking an experienced MLOps/Machine Learning Platform Engineer for a UK technology company developing advanced AI systems for defence and security. The role is fully onsite in Cambridgeshire, focusing on production ML platforms and secure environments.

You will design and maintain pipelines, implement CI/CD for ML models, and collaborate with ML, software and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable deployments across secure environments. Active UK DV clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active UK DV clearance is essential.
• Commercial experience building or operating production machine learning systems.
• Strong Python and Linux experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline development.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible or similar technologies.
• Experience deploying and monitoring trained machine learning models.
• Cloud or on-premises platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, automation and system reliability.
• Experience working with machine learning engineers and data-intensive workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain production machine learning platforms.
• Build automated pipelines for data preparation, training, testing and deployment.
• Develop CI/CD processes for machine learning models and supporting software.
• Manage containerised workloads and orchestration platforms.
• Support GPU infrastructure and distributed model training.
• Implement model versioning, experiment tracking and artefact management.
• Establish monitoring for model performance, infrastructure and data quality.
• Improve the reliability, security and repeatability of ML deployments.
• Support deployment across secure, on-premises and restricted environments.
• Work closely with machine learning, software, infrastructure and customer teams.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to platform architecture.
