Job summary

CBSbutler Ltd. is seeking an experienced Front End Developer to build secure, role-aware interfaces for a next-generation Defence Intelligence platform in London. You will collaborate with UX/UI, Back End teams and stakeholders to deliver accessible interfaces in a mission-critical environment.

Role requires strong React/TypeScript expertise, experience with REST APIs, and a secure delivery mindset. Current DV clearance and four days onsite at an MOD location are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience delivering software within MOD, Defence, National Security or similarly secure environments.
• Strong commercial React development experience.
• Strong TypeScript capability.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and collaborating closely with backend engineering teams.
• Experience building responsive, accessible and maintainable user interfaces.
• Good understanding of component-based development and design system principles.
• Experience using Git within agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components aligned with a coherent design system and component library.
• Work closely with UX Designers to translate user journeys, wireframes and prototypes into production-ready interfaces.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, workflow services and identity/access mechanisms.
• Develop role-aware dashboards, task views, status tracking and operational work queues.
• Apply accessibility, responsive design and usability best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint delivery, demonstrations and user feedback sessions.
• Contribute to frontend testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
