Job summary

Salt is seeking a DV-cleared Data Science Specialist to join a premier technology and defence practice. Based in a specialist team, this leadership role matures internal data science capabilities and maximizes value from complex datasets across critical platforms.

You will lead an agile team of 6 data scientists, blend hands-on delivery with strategic influence, identify high-impact opportunities, and build custom AI/ML models to solve real customer challenges.

Qualifications

• Python/Scala/Java with libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Deep ML frameworks and practical ML techniques.
• Advanced data analytics incl. graphs, time-series, geospatial analytics.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead line management and technical direction for a team of 6 data scientists.
• Drive exploitation of complex data sets on critical platforms to deliver actionable outcomes.
• Coordinate design, build and deployment of custom ML models and algorithms.
• Upskill and mentor team members in data science and AI practices.
