Job description

Duty Risk and Mental Health Practitioner

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Duty, Risk and Mental Health Practitioner to join us in a new role within an established team. You will operate across several Talking Therapies services, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to provide first-class clinical care.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with a professional health registered body
  • Ongoing professional development and training, including safeguarding Level 3
  • Experience within NHS mental health services dealing with various mental health issues
  • Assessing and managing multiple risk presentations
  • Multidisciplinary working
  • Assessment and management of safeguarding issues
  • Experience working with individuals in acute mental distress
  • Providing risk and safeguarding advice, consultation, and supervision

This role offers a chance to develop your skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will be involved in working as a Duty and Risk Mental Health Practitioner in a regional team, liaising directly with service users, the Talking Therapies team, GPs, and other agencies, including secondary care.

You will also support staff with clinical risk management and safeguarding processes, and handle client contact primarily via telephone, often with distressed individuals, to screen suitability and facilitate referrals into secondary mental health services.

Applicants with experience in risk management and knowledge of primary and secondary mental health care are encouraged to apply. The position is remote but may include occasional team-building days at Vita Health Group bases. You will need private space for confidential calls.
