Job summary

JD Gyms in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee daily club operations, open/close duties, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for members and staff.

You will work with the management team to hit membership targets and revenue goals, uphold brand standards, supervise gym floor staff and cleaners, and deliver outstanding service through professional interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth and commercial performance.
• Experience supporting operational delivery and people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties.
• Flexible working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard and conduct safety checks regularly.
• Support membership, revenue and commercial objectives and grow secondary revenue streams.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness and professional appearance across the club.

You will help maintain high operational standards, support colleagues and ensure members receive a safe, welcoming and positive experience during every visit.Working closely with the wider management team, you will contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives while ensuring the club operates efficiently, safely and in line with JD Gyms standards.Responsibilities:• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties where required.• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
