Job summary

The Range is seeking a Duty Manager to help oversee the daily operation of the store in a fast-paced retail environment. You will lead shop-floor colleagues, coach performance, and ensure standards across customer service, merchandising, compliance, health & safety, and stock control.

You will be responsible for opening and closing procedures, driving engagement, and maintaining a positive, productive environment. A passion for service and strong leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous retail supervisory, team leader or management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations and ensure high standards of service, merchandising, compliance, health & safety and team performance.
• Lead colleagues on the shop floor, provide coaching and support, and ensure operational procedures are followed.
• Maintain store standards, stock availability and promotional activity while monitoring deliveries and stock movement.

The Role

As Duty Manager, you will help oversee the daily operation of the store, ensuring excellent standards across customer service, merchandising, compliance, health & safety and team performance. You will lead colleagues on the shop floor, provide coaching and support, and ensure all operational procedures are delivered consistently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Deliver a friendly, helpful and efficient customer experience at all times
• Lead by example in providing excellent customer service
• Support effective queue management and customer flow during busy periods
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally
• Promote a positive and engaging in-store experience

Team Leadership

• Support, motivate and guide store colleagues
• Assist with colleague training, induction and development
• Provide coaching and performance feedback
• Help maintain a positive, productive and collaborative working environment
• Ensure company policies and standards are consistently followed

Store Standards & Operations

• Ensure the store is clean, organised and ready for trade each day
• Maintain high merchandising and presentation standards
• Support promotional activity and stock availability
• Monitor deliveries, stock movement and warehouse organisation
• Assist with opening and closing procedures

Compliance, Security & Health & Safety

• Support store security procedures including cash and stock control
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Assist with accident logs, safety records and risk assessments
• Monitor EPOS and pricing compliance
• Ensure operational procedures are delivered accurately and consistently
