The post - Catering Duty Manager

The University of West of Scotland are recruiting for an experienced Catering Duty Manager to join our Campus Services team at our Ayr campus. The postholder will be responsible for managing the campus catering team as well the catering outlets, planning, delivery of service excellence, ensuring commercial viability and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Working closely with the Catering Operations Manager, the Catering Duty Manager will set clear objectives for their team, providing motivation, encouragement and training to all staff to ensure that they are supported and able to allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure the business needs are met.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HNC in Hospitality/Retail Management/business equivalent or have relevant and practical work experience
  • Food Hygiene Certification
  • Proven track record of success in managing teams - with experience in a commercial catering environment
  • Experience in assisting at large scale catering events, including buffets and functions
  • An understanding of a customer driven commercially orientated service environment
