Job summary

easyJet in Edinburgh is seeking a Duty Engineer to lead the Line Maintenance production team, ensuring the safe, efficient and on-time delivery of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

You will deputise for the management team when required, allocate resources, build relations with stakeholders and sign off maintenance in line with regulatory and company procedures.

Qualifications

• UK Part 66 B1 and/or B2 Licence and authorisation on company aircraft.
• At least five years' operational experience within a line maintenance environment.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders across a complex operation.
• Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Line Maintenance production team and ensure safe, efficient and timely delivery of maintenance activities.
• Allocate resources to rectify defects and keep aircraft departures on schedule.
• Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders and third-party suppliers for a One Team approach.
• Communicate operational risks, disruptions and potential impacts to the flying programme.
• Exercise licence and approval privileges to certify maintenance activities in line with regulatory and company requirements.

You’ll work across all aspects of the airline operation, supporting planned and reactive maintenance activity while helping to maintain Europe’s highest standards of technical dispatch reliability. The Role

As Duty Engineer, you will lead the Line Maintenance production team, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely delivery of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity. Acting as a key operational leader, you will support colleagues, collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, and help deliver a resilient maintenance operation that supports the airline's flying programme.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deputising for the management team when required.
• Leading, motivating and performance managing team members to drive engagement and development.
• Allocating resources effectively to ensure defects are rectified efficiently and aircraft departures remain on schedule.
• Building strong relationships with operational stakeholders and third-party suppliers to support a One Team approach.
• Communicating operational risks, disruptions and potential impacts to the flying programme.
• Ensuring maintenance documentation and certification are completed accurately and in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring technical delays, out of service reports and the reporting of significant defects, incidents and events.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance across facilities, equipment and vehicles.
• Delivering effective shift handovers and ensuring accurate recording and management of deferred defects.
• Exercising licence and approval privileges to certify maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, influence and support diverse teams.
• A UK Part 66 B1 and/or B2 Licence and authorisation, or equivalent on company aircraft.
• Up-to-date knowledge of applicable airworthiness legislation.
• Ideally at least five years' operational experience within a line maintenance environment.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders across a complex operation.
• A strong customer focus with the ability to balance operational priorities.
• Experience driving change and continuous improvement.
• Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to work confidently with operational systems.

Practicalities

This full-time role will be based in Edinburgh working a DDNN 12-hour shift pattern on a 4-on, 4-off rota. There may be occasional travel to easyJet headquarters and other network locations as required.
