Job summary

Skylight Psychiatry Ltd is seeking a Duty Clinician in Basingstoke for a hybrid role with occasional travel to the office. The post supports risk management, ADHD assessments (primarily virtual), and MDT collaboration within a forward-thinking mental health service.

The role requires at least two years post-qualification experience in mental health, registration with NMC/HCPC, and strong organisational and communication skills. DBS check and UK work eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional (e.g. NMC/HCPC).
• Minimum two years post-qualification experience, including two years in a mental health setting.
• Experience of complex case management and risk assessment.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding processes and confidentiality requirements.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Proficient computer skills; Semble training provided.

Responsibilities

• Review all identified risks and assign a RAG rating in line with Risk Management Protocol.
• Complete Urgent Reviews the same day and Routine Reviews within 48 hours.
• Respond to and action-plan urgent risk concerns, escalating to the Clinical Team Lead or Clinical Director where required.
• Maintain oversight of safeguarding referrals and the safeguarding log.
• Liaise with GPs, Crisis Teams, CMHTs and other agencies to support risk management.
• Complete monthly reviews of Red Risk patients via the risk register.
• Hand over incomplete duty tasks clearly, with actions and timeframes, where appropriate.
• Conduct ADHD assessments in line with best practice and service guidelines, and prepare reports within agreed timeframes.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to discuss and agree outcomes and recommendations.
• Attend reflective practice, clinical governance meetings, MDTs and relevant training.
• Keep up to date with current research and best practice in autism/ADHD assessment.
