Job summary

Milk Education in Durham is seeking a calm, patient and positive Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and wants to help children feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

You’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may need additional help with emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence and engagement.

Qualifications

• Patient, calm and emotionally resilient.
• Strong communicator who can build relationships.
• Graduate or aspiring teacher with volunteering/placement experience with children.
• Experience in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring or similar is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Helping children develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.
• Supporting pupils to re-engage with their learning.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where needed.
• Encouraging positive communication and conflict resolution.
• Promoting positive behaviour and celebrating progress.

Milk Education is looking for a calm, patient and positive Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Durham.
