Dual Skilled Technician - Heavy Engineering - West Yorkshire

Are you a qualified Mechanical and/or Electrical Technician looking for your next challenge in a heavy engineering environment where reliability and safety are essential?

The Role

As a Dual Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining critical assets, covering mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy machinery, specialist vehicles, and systems.

  • Perform planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose faults and repair braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Replace and install components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels.
  • Follow technical documentation and schematics to ensure high standards of maintenance.
  • Complete condition checks, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate within a skilled engineering team.

This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts and regular overtime opportunities.

About You

This position suits individuals experienced in heavy engineering or vehicle environments, including HGVs, plant machinery, aerospace, or industrial maintenance.

  • Qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (Degree, C&G, HND, or HNC).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining or overhauling heavy equipment or vehicles.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts and support operational needs.
  • All candidates must pass pre-employment checks, including medical, drug & alcohol screening, and DBS.
