Job Description:

We are looking for a part-time assistant caretaker.

Applicants should be physically fit, have good DIY and communication skills. You will be working across 2 local schools.

Working pattern is Mon – Fri 7.00am – 10.30am OR 3.00pm – 6.30pm with occasional evening and weekend overtime. Ideally, applicants will live in the local area to be available for alarm call outs outside of their normal working hours.

Qualifications

• Capable of working at heights
• Significant experience or skills in a trade
• Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance

Knowledge and Understanding

• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required by the post including lifting, carrying and pushing various equipment to undertake the duties of the post
• Ability to use small industrial, electrical and mechanical equipment

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent speaking and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Helpful, positive, calm and caring nature
