Job description

We're looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll be representing our brands in our customers’ homes, so you’ll need to be just as comfortable talking to customers and getting to know them as you are about doing the installation itself.

You’ll be fitting meters, demonstrating how their meters and in-home displays work, explaining how they can help save energy, and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.

As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, we’ll ensure you have everything you need to deliver top-class service. You’ll be supported by an office team sharing the same performance goals, working as one team. You’ll also benefit from Octopus Energy’s advanced tech infrastructure, enabling us to continually improve processes, reduce admin time, and focus on service delivery.

What you'll need:

• MOCoPA - valid within the last 2 years, with proof
• Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving license with no more than 6 points

Call-out and Overtime:

• On a rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks (Monday to Sunday), with a £250 retainer. Paid from door to door when called out.

Saturday working:

• £50 for attending
• £70 for dual fuel installation
• £35 for single fuel installation
• Technical aborts paid at half rate

Next Steps:

• If eligible, you'll be invited to our in-person recruitment event, Octopalooza, to showcase your skills.
• At the event, you'll undergo a practical trade test, have a short interview with an Area Manager, and learn more about working as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus.

Salary range: £36,500 - £50,000 per year.

You’ll start at £36,500 with the potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE, including bonus and on-call pay.
