Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is seeking a Dual Fuel Engineer to install smart meters in domestic properties and join a nationwide engineering team. The role offers a full-time position with strong pay, bonuses and benefits in the Newport area.

The candidate must hold a Smart Meter Engineering qualification, MOCOPA and CMA1/CCN1 MET1 where applicable, with a valid driving licence and DBS check. EUSR is a plus.

Qualifications

• MOCOPA certification (completed on induction if not already held).
• CMA1 certificate or CCN1 & MET1.
• Valid driving licence and DBS check (recent).
• EUSR card advantageous but not essential.

At Orion Smart Metering, we're proud to work with leading energy suppliers across the UK. We're now expanding our team and are looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to install meters in domestic properties as part of our growing national contracts. The Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer must live in the BS postcode.

The Role

As a Dual Fuel Engineer with Orion, you'll enjoy a stable, full-time position with excellent pay, bonuses, and benefits. You will:

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that best fits your circumstances:

• Salary Package: £45,000 per annum, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Umbrella Day Rate Option 1: £200 per day, paid via Umbrella PAYE, company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Umbrella Day Rate Option 2: £275 per day, paid via Umbrella PAYE, engineer provides own van & fuel, tools & uniform provided

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch). Minimum of 4 jobs per day / 20 per week. Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met.

Bonus Breakdown

• KPI Bonus: £150 per month, achieved by hitting 75% completion of your jobs in a calendar month
• Attendance Bonus: £150 per month, awarded for full attendance and no sick days in a calendar month (pro-rated for holiday taken)

Call Out

• Call out 1 week in 4
• Standby payments: Monday-Sunday
• Price per job: £150 per dual, £80 per single, £50 per transactional job
• Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Diploma or qualification in Smart Meter Engineering
• MOCOPA certification (completed on induction if not already held)
• CMA1 certificate or CCN1 & MET1
• Valid driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent certificate within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous but not essential)
• Documents required: Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualification/diploma, NI number, references, and DBS
