Pro currently has an exciting opportunity for a Delegated Underwriting Team Manager to be part of our Insurance Services team. The job holder will be required to manage a team to perform effectively and ensure client service levels, deliverables, and deadlines are met.
Pro operates a hybrid working policy, with this role working from home for the majority of the time and from our Gloucester, London, or Liverpool office on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the performance of a client and managing the team, including:
Client Management
- Establish and maintain external client relationships
- Ensure contract profitability for the team
- Monitor KPIs and SLAs, identify steps to mitigate delivery issues, and escalate to the Client Manager when necessary
- Provide meaningful MI and analysis regarding service delivery and Client Governance to the Account Manager
Team Management
- Implement decisions on team activities
- Resolve internal issues and support external resolutions
- Support professional and personal development of team members
- Cascade and communicate objectives
- Conduct appraisals and set objectives
- Agree personal development plans with individuals
- Review work completed by team members and provide feedback
- Provide technical training and assistance to team members and the wider team as needed
Operational Delivery
- Identify and escalate issues impacting current and future business opportunities
- Contribute to new business projects and support pitches
- Report to the operations manager to assist in decision-making, budget planning, utilization, training, and business development
- Support business development meetings with technical input
- Manage resources effectively, including delegation and recruitment
Skills and Experience
- Experience in leading and managing people, either directly or through projects
- Ability to navigate various systems, including client-developed systems and document management systems
- Experience with Intrali or similar bordereaux mapping systems is essential
- Excellent knowledge of London Market systems and procedures
- Ability to prioritize team workload to meet deadlines
- Conscientious, positive, and enthusiastic work approach; good relationships with clients and colleagues
- Excellent communication skills and initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to draw insights and recommend improvements
