Job summary

The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking a Business Systems Developer in Sheffield to join the DTS department. You will implement, develop and support core business systems across the organisation, including finance and HR platforms, and help grow the data platform.

You'll work closely with the Business Systems Manager, providing Power BI advice and driving modern methods to improve efficiency, citizen developer enablement, and overall system performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering or supporting business systems in a public-sector environment.
• Familiarity with Power BI and data platform concepts.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Expand the horizons of the existing data platform and introduce innovative work methodologies enabling citizen developers and Power BI guidance.

The DTS department is transforming the way IT facilitates seismic transformations within the organisation, and we're seeking your expertise to propel us to greater heights. As a Business Systems Developer, you'll be instrumental in crafting, innovating, and deploying state-of-the-art systems that propel our business towards success.

About The Role

As a Business Systems Developer, reporting directly to the Business Systems Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing, developing and supporting Business Systems throughout the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support the organisational core operational systems, such as the finance system and HR platforms.
• Embarking on a journey to expand the horizons of the existing data platform, you'll pioneer the introduction of innovative, contemporary work methodologies that empower citizen developers to unleash their potential, working with unprecedented efficiency and agility whilst being the go-to person for Power BI advice.
• You’ll be a key member of the team dedicated to sourcing business systems that perfectly align with the unique needs and ambitions of our organisation, driving us towards unprecedented levels of efficiency and success.

About You

As a key member of our team, you'll work alongside the Database Administrator and ensure the delivery of system support and development, whilst maintaining excellent communication throughout.
