Essential Job Functions:
- Develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps with leadership, including digital solutions, machine learning, and leveraging commonality across sites.
- Design and implement process optimization strategies with the DTO Intelligent Automation technical systems engineers to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
- Analyze manufacturing processes, identify improvements, and recommend technological solutions, including project charters, risk analysis, feasibility studies, automation FAT, SAT, and validation.
- Manage laboratory experiments, pilot studies, and technology transfer activities, including external vendors.
- Develop and implement playbooks for automation solutions in collaboration with the team.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve process issues, improve equipment effectiveness, and ensure quality.
- Maintain relationships with various departments to align strategies and goals.
- Mentor and develop engineering capabilities in automation technology, including training and skills assessment.
- Drive value through automation, increasing asset utilization, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Travel approximately 25-30% of the time.
Required Education and Experience:
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Process, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
- At least 15 years of responsible engineering experience in manufacturing, automation design, and project engineering, preferably in regulated industries.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Intelligent Automation, digital transformations, machine learning, vision, controls, robotics, AI, GenAI, and data analytics.
- Knowledge of process optimization, lean, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Process, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
- Project Management and Industry 4.0 certifications.
- Experience with process analysis, modelling, simulation software, and tools like Kaizen, 5S, VSM.
- Knowledge of automation/control systems like SCADA and PLC.
