Job Opportunity: Full-Time Design & Technology Technician

Are you a hands-on individual with a passion for supporting creative learning? We are currently seeking a full-time Design & Technology Technician to join a dynamic secondary school in Hillingdon this September 2025.

Location: Hillingdon, London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: 16 to 18 an hour



Role Overview:

As a DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the Design & Technology department, ensuring practical lessons are well-prepared and resources are maintained to a high standard.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain tools, machinery, and materials for practical lessons

  • Assist teachers and students during practical sessions across a range of DT disciplines (e.g., Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design)

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations in workshops

  • Carry out routine maintenance and ordering of stock and materials

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within DT workshops and prep areas



Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a DT Technician or in a similar practical/technical support role (preferred), or an Architecture or Engineering degree

  • Knowledge of health & safety in a workshop/school setting

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
