Start Date: After Easter
Salary: £130 - £230 per day
Contract Type: Temporary with a view to becoming permanent

Are you an enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our dedicated team at Supply Desk as a Design & Technology Teacher. The role will commence after the Easter break, with the potential to become a permanent position.

The Role:
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a range of DT subjects, including product design, textiles, and resistant materials. You will inspire students to explore their creativity and develop practical skills that will serve them well in their future careers. You will be expected to create engaging lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and contribute to the overall development of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and challenging lessons in Design & Technology.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Ensure all students achieve their personal best, supporting those with varying levels of ability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop the curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities for students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school events as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A strong background in teaching Design & Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is a bonus).
  • A passion for design and innovation, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student welfare.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
