Job summary

Academics is seeking a Design & Technology teacher for secondary schools in Southampton. The role is full-time and starts September 2026 or sooner, delivering practical DT across Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food Tech or Engineering for KS3–KS4.

You will plan, deliver, and assess challenging lessons, support mixed-ability students, and contribute to department and whole-school life. DBS check required; multiple local schools may be involved.

Qualifications

• Qualified DT teacher with QTS or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more DT specialisms.
• Passion for inclusive, engaging, and practical teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging DT lessons for KS3–KS4.
• Support learners of all abilities with inclusive teaching.
• Contribute to the development of the DT department and school initiatives.
