About The Role

An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in East London is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Food or Design Technology teacher to deliver high-quality, creative lessons at Key Stage 3. This is a part-time role (2–3 days per week), perfect for someone looking for flexible working while making a real impact on young learners.The school has a strong commitment to practical learning and cultural enrichment, and this role plays a key part in helping students develop essential life skills and innovative thinking through design and cookery.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach engaging and hands-on Food or Design Technology lessons to students in Years 7 to 9.
• Plan and deliver a curriculum that promotes healthy living, creativity, and problem-solving.
• Ensure a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Assess students' progress and provide meaningful feedback to support their development.
• Contribute to the department’s schemes of work and resource development.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
• Experience teaching Food Technology, Design Technology, or both at KS3
• A passion for practical subjects and encouraging student creativity
• Up-to-date knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, and safety procedures
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively and inspire students of all abilities
