Design and Technology Teacher (Resistant Materials)

Location: Brentwood

Start Date: immediately

Contract Type: Full-time

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher with a passion for Resistant Materials to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Design and Technology department based in Brentwood. As a DT Teacher, you will inspire and guide our students through the exciting world of design and manufacturing, enabling them to explore their creativity and develop key skills for the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver high-quality teaching in Resistant Materials at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  2. Plan and implement engaging lessons that encourage practical and theoretical learning.
  3. Develop a curriculum that reflects the latest trends and technologies in design and manufacturing.
  4. Support students in their project work, helping them design, create, and evaluate practical solutions.
  5. Promote creativity and innovation in design processes.
  6. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department to share best practices and resources.
  7. Provide constructive feedback to students and assist in their academic and personal development.
  8. Support students in preparation for GCSE exams and assessments.
Person Specification:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. Proven experience in teaching Resistant Materials or a related subject at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  3. Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology and the ability to inspire students.
  4. A passion for hands-on teaching and practical project work.
  5. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  6. A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  7. The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
  8. Experience of preparing students for GCSE exams is desirable.
