Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Project Engineer (DSEAR) to support delivery of DSEAR projects focused on Chlorine Gas and Methanol Dosing. You will manage performance, safety and work in hazardous environments, working with an in-house design team to provide real-time technical solutions.

The role involves liaising with clients from enquiry through to final acceptance, directing trades and apprentices, and ensuring documentation and safety plans are in place.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Hazardous Environments, preferably Chlorine Gas or Methanol Dosing.
• Proven track record in Project Management with engineering or supervisory background.
• Strong time management and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to engineering trades, especially mechanical/electrical.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Project liaison from enquiry to final acceptance and documentation, with client meetings and site surveys.
• Instructing, directing and allocating work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, focusing on quality, productivity and safety.
• Ensure all technical information is available for design/construction delivery.
• Interpret and check drawings, specifications, and schedules; prepare final documentation (As Built Drawings).
• Identify and resolve non-conformances during design and construction.
• Manage design of systems and products to align with specifications.
• Prepare Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans under CDM with Principal Contractor responsibility.
• Input to Tender, design and construction programmes including progress updates and reporting.
• Subcontractor liaison, management including tender specs, quotation and H&S review.
