DSEAR Consultant – SOCOTEC – Home Based (covering the South of the UK)

Ready to take the next step in your Health & Safety career? Join SOCOTEC as a DSEAR Consultant and play a key role in helping clients manage risk, stay compliant, and keep people safe.

As part of our growing Environment & Safety Division, you’ll be the expert our clients turn to for clear, practical DSEAR guidance. You’ll carry out professional assessments across a wide range of sites, advising on corrective actions and helping organisations meet their obligations under the DSEAR Regulations 2002 and ACOP L138.

We’re looking for a proactive, flexible, and dependable consultant who can work both independently and collaboratively across varied projects. Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert DSEAR assessments, advising clients on corrective actions and compliance with DSEAR Regulations 2002 and ACOP L138
  • Provide end-to-end DSEAR consultancy — from hazardous area classification and equipment selection (ATEX) to developing practical engineering solutions
  • Prepare prioritised action plans, HAC schedules, and zone drawings to support safe design and operation
  • Ensure all work meets SOCOTEC standards, policies, and client requirements
  • Continuously develop your professional skills and support business growth by identifying new opportunities
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate
  • Experience working and advising in line with DSEAR regulations
  • Preparation of HAC schedules and drawing mark-ups to indicate extent of hazardous zones
  • Experience advising on selection of equipment within ATEX zones, and risk of ignition from mechanical sources
  • High levels of customer service and delivery
