DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide support at UBTC’s Dry Dock facilities at Tilbury to ensure a safe and effective working environment under the direction of the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager.
  • Assist with the welding, mechanical, painting, and electrical trades in moving equipment, preparation of work areas, cleaning and other duties.
  • Undertake driving duties and deliveries / collection of equipment and movement of personnel between UBTC facilities and contractor’s premises.
  • To be responsible for implementing the stock control system at Tilbury stores, including booking in and issuing stock from storage
  • Provide assistance and support to external contractors working on vessels or site maintenance as directed by the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager or his deputy.
  • Provide feedback to the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager on activities to ensure continuous improvements in standards, efficiency, and safety
  • To assist in ensuring all dry dock works undertaken by UBTC are completed in compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations in accordance with dry dock schedule.
  • Support all works by maintaining a safe, clean and tidy environment.
  • Undertake driving duties to facilitate collection and delivery of parts and equipment and assist in movement of crew between Tilbury and Trinity Buoy Wharf.
  • Utilise forklift truck to assist in the removing and refitting of parts to vessels as required and to load / unload vehicles.
  • Use the powered sweeper and hand tools to keep the shed and outside areas clean.
  • Take responsibility for storage, tracking and issue of parts from storage areas on the Tilbury site.
  • Undertake fire monitor and site security duties as required.

I am currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to work for a cutting-edge technology company based in Glamorgan, but on a hybrid basis. Salary up to £5,000 + Relocation + Benefits.

In this role as a Supply Chain Manager, you will manage 6 direct reports and will be responsible for typical Supply Chain Manager tasks, however this role will place greater emphasises on certain areas. These include managing a major customer via weekly meetings which will involve you understanding their demands for the next 2-weeks and then will involve you doing capacity planning which will include both resource / labour and materials. You will be looking at the SAP MRP system and look at how you improve its usage and ultimately how you can optimise it to get the best out of it. You will be involved in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and ideally own this for the organisation, whilst liaising and updating other senor stakeholders within the business with the information that affects them and their departments. Finally, you will be involved with inventory and putting the necessary rules in place surrounding stock and component availability.

  • Experience with an ERP system (ideally SAP)

KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As part of the Purchasing and Supply Chain team, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product Development and Logistics, this role will manage end-to-end direct and indirect procurement processes, including the creation of RFQs, defining optimal purchase volumes and ensuring timely material deliveries by cultivating excellent, robust, supplier relationships.
