Job description

Join us in Harlesden on Thursday 21st August to help with weeding, cutting back, and caring for saplings and the wildflower meadow planted on the canalside. Your efforts will help enhance the canalside as a great place for people to visit and a thriving ecosystem for wildlife.

We will start by clearing nettles and other plants that may dominate the area. The gardening will be followed by a workshop on making twine from nettles, using the plants we cut back during the session.

This is a great opportunity to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities, or simply spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment. Please wear sturdy boots. Gloves and all other equipment will be provided.

Meeting point: We will meet on the steps down to the canal in front of The Collective Old Oak (Nash House, Old Oak Ln, London NW10 6FF) at 11:00. The session will run for 3 hours. Book your space by signing up today.

This opportunity is for individuals wanting to volunteer with the Trust. If you are looking to join with a team of colleagues or a community group, please see our Volunteering in Partnership pages on the website.
