Job summary

A leading driving school in Scotland is looking to recruit new Driving Instructors. Candidates must hold a valid UK driving licence for over 2½ years and possess key skills such as reliability, punctuality, and customer service. This is an ideal opportunity given the record number of learner drivers and competitive hourly rates. Full training is provided, and training fees will be refunded after working with us.

Job description

My Four Wheels is one of the most trusted and fastest growing driving schools in the UK, with 200 driving instructors currently on the road and hundreds in our training programme who will be hitting the roads shortly.

There is currently a record number of learner drivers needing teaching due to test centre backlogs caused by COVID-19.

In the last 12 months, our Driving Instructors' hourly rates have increased on average by £3 due to high demand.

Additionally, over 70% of our Driving Instructors have waiting lists, some as long as 6 months. There has never been a better time to become a driving instructor.

Anyone can become a Driving Instructor. Recently, we have recruited people from various industries:

  • Driving industry (HGV driver, delivery driver, van driver, LGV driver, bus driver)
  • Finance industry (finance manager, accountant, analyst, supervisor, director)
  • IT industry (IT support, cybersecurity, web designer, engineers, web developer)
  • Health industry (care assistant, care manager, care trainer, doctor, nurse)
  • Education industry (teacher, teaching assistant, admin officer, personal assistant, lecturer)

Full training is provided, conducted as locally as possible.

Our pass rates are well above the industry average, and we refund all your training fees when you work with us.

To apply to become a Driving Instructor, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have held a full UK driving licence (or approved foreign licence) for at least 2½ years
  • Have not been banned from driving in the last 4 years
  • Have no more than 6 points on your licence
