Job summary

Bluebird Care Lancaster & South Lakeland is looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in Lancaster and the surrounding area. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are required, with the role offering flexible full-time or part-time hours and competitive hourly pay.

You will support customers with daily living activities, follow care plans, provide compassionate companionship, and receive full induction training, mentoring, and ongoing support.

Qualifications

  • Great communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to follow care plans.
  • Previous care experience is beneficial but training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs.
  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming).
  • Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition.
  • Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal.
  • Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning.
  • Be a dependable friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for.

Responsibilities

As aCare Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs
  • Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming)
  • Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition
  • Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal
  • Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning
  • Be a dependable friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for
  • Higher pay rates for those with industry recognised qualifications
  • £100 loyalty voucher on each work anniversary
  • Full paid induction training
  • Mentoring for the first 12 weeks

Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Ability to follow care plans
  • Previous care experience is beneficial but not a necessity as full training will be provided.
