Job summary

The Best Connection Group is seeking reliable Driver's Mates for ad hoc shifts in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. You will work with a driver, assist with loading and unloading, and adapt to flexible weekly demands.

This role is physically demanding, outdoors-friendly, and requires good communication with customers. Weekly availability is requested and shifts are allocated based on client needs. The pay rate is £12.79–£13.00 per hour, with ongoing support from our recruitment team.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items.
• Reliable and punctual for ad hoc shifts.
• Flexible weekly availability to match client needs.
• Previous warehouse/delivery experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and unloading heavy goods.
• Travel with the driver to various delivery locations.
• Safely handle and move heavy objects.
• Assist with deliveries to customers.
• Contact customers approximately 10 minutes before arrival.
• Communicate professionally with customers on delivery.
• Complete delivery paperwork with customers when required.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
• Work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team.

The Role

The Best Connection are currently looking for reliable and physically fit Driver's Mates to join our team for ad hoc work.

This is a flexible role where you will provide us with your availability each week, and we will contact you when suitable shifts become available based on our clients' requirements.

You will work alongside a driver, travelling out to customer deliveries and assisting with the loading and unloading of heavy items from the vehicle. This is a physically demanding position, so applicants must be comfortable with heavy lifting and working on their feet.

Key Responsibilities
