Here at GXO, we're working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Colchester (CO3 8DW).

You'll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, following a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 Monday to Friday / Week 2 Sunday to Thursday, with a start time at 11:00. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do On a Typical Day

• Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on multidrop basis an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drop per day in peak season
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What You Need To Succeed At GXO

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
• Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
• Be prepared to commute to Colchester (CO3 8DW) for the required shift pattern
