Job description

Are you the perfect co-pilot for a journey of delivering happiness? Do you want to play a key part in delivering customer satisfaction one B&Q product at a time? If the answer is Yes, read on!

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Driver Mate to join our Store to Home team in Ashford (TN23 7DG).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘Any 5 days out of 7’ pattern, contracted to 40 hours per week, with start times between 07:00 and 11:00. This role will require flexibility as you will be working on a 3-week rota pattern (provided in advance) including weekends.

• An hourly rate of £13.21, which equates to an annual salary of £27,476.80

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Work as part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice) on a multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off-peak and 24 drops per day in peak season
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience dealing with multi-drop home delivery preferred but not essential
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting, and pushing
• Can-do attitude with a knack for problem-solving
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check
• Be prepared to commute to Ashford (TN23 7DG) for the required shift pattern
