Job summary

EVRi International is seeking a Night Shift HGV Class 1 Driver for our Southampton Depot. You will operate Cat C+E vehicles on overnight routes, starting between midnight and 2am, on a full-time 40-hour week with weekend shifts.

You will ensure safe delivery, confirm collections, update paperwork, and assist with heavier items. You’ll communicate road or weather issues to arrange alternate routes and support the depot team.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) entitlements, CPC training, and digital tachograph.
• Newly-qualified drivers welcome; all must undertake a short driving assessment.
• Reasonable physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Drive longer routes in waves, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of parcels and letters from the depot to clients and other sites in the network.
• Confirm parcels are collected and delivered safely, update paperwork, and assist depot staff with heavier items when required.
• Keep the depot team updated on road or weather problems so alternative routes can be arranged.

Location: Southampton Depot, Unit 1 South Central, Test Lane, Southampton, United Kingdom.

Position: HGV Class 1 Night Driver (Cat C+E).

Night shifts typically start between 00:00 and 02:00. Full‑time contracts are 40 hours per week, with some weekend shifts. Full‑time work is any 5 shifts out of 7; rota is given in advance. If this does not suit, arrangements can be discussed.

What You’ll Do

You will drive longer routes in waves, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of parcels and letters from the depot to clients and other sites in the network. You will confirm parcels are collected and delivered safely, update paperwork, and assist depot staff with heavier items when required. You will also keep the depot team updated on any road or weather problems so alternative routes can be arranged.

What We Can Offer You

Pay: £18.55 per hour, with an overtime rate of £27.83 once full‑time hours are completed.
