Job summary

A leading waste management company in Dumfries is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to operate articulated vehicles transporting bulk waste. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class 1 license and be committed to high safety standards. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage and ongoing training with a focus on sustainability and employee support.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class 1 HGV licence.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Must have a valid CPC and Digital Tacho Card.

Responsibilities

• Drive articulated vehicles with walking floor trailers.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure all loads are secure and documentation completed.

Job description

Class 1 HGV Driver- Artic (Walking Floors and Bulkers)

Role: Class 1HGV Driver- Artics (Walking Floor)

Location: Dumfries

Hours: 40-50 hours per week with overtime options available

Rate of Pay: £14.68 per hour

For this role, you MUST be willing to camp out up to 4 nights per week.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Driving articulated vehicles with walking floor trailers to transport bulk waste and recyclables.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Operating walking floor equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring all loads are secure and documentation is completed accurately.
• Providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Working in line with all road transport and health & safety regulations.

What Are We Looking For?

• A full, valid Class 1HGV licence.
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tacho Card.
• A great attitude and commitment to performing the job to the highest standard.
• Previous waste/recycling driving experience is preferred, but not essential -we provide comprehensive training.
