Job summary

Aspion is recruiting for a hands-on Driver / Warehouse Operative based in Bacup. The role combines driving a flatbed transit van with loading, unloading and FLT duties in a busy warehouse environment.

You will perform manual handling, ensure loads are secured, assist goods-in and goods-out, and maintain a safe, tidy work area while following company Health & Safety procedures. A Full UK Driving Licence is required, and experience with Transit/Flatbed vans and Counterbalance FLT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience driving a Transit Van / Flatbed Van.
• FLT experience, Counterbalance preferred.
• Experience in a warehouse/industrial environment is advantageous.
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
• Good loading/unloading procedures and safe working practices.

Driver / Warehouse Operative - Flatbed Transit Van

Location: Bacup, Lancashire

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours:6AM-5PM Monday-Thursday - 40HR WEEK

The Role

We are recruiting for a Driver / Warehouse Operative to join a well-established engineering and equipment business based in Bacup.

This is a hands-on and physically demanding position, combining driving a flatbed transit van with warehouse, loading/unloading and FLT duties. The successful candidate must be comfortable with manual handling and getting stuck into the physical side of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a flatbed transit van to complete deliveries and collections
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
• Operating an FLT to move materials and equipment
• Carrying out regular manual handling and heavy lifting
• Securing loads correctly before transportation
• Supporting goods-in and goods-out activities
• Checking deliveries and ensuring the correct items are loaded
• Assisting with general warehouse and stores duties
• Moving equipment and materials around the site
• Completing basic delivery and collection paperwork
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures

Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience driving a Transit Van / Flatbed Van or similar commercial vehicle
• Previous FLT experience - Counterbalance preferred
• Experience within a warehouse, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding work
• Good understanding of safe loading and unloading procedures
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to support different areas of the operation
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude when completing deliveries

About You

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, physically fit and dependable. This isn't purely a driving position - you'll be expected to support with loading, unloading, FLT operation and general warehouse duties throughout the working day.

The ideal candidate will be happy working in a practical environment and willing to get involved wherever required.
