Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Aberdeen is seeking an enthusiastic Driver/Valeter to ensure vehicles are presented to the highest standard. This active, hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork and has strong attention to detail.

Day-to-day you’ll clean vehicles inside and out using appropriate tools, operate a high-powered pressure washer, vacuum interiors and buff bodywork, while following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Able to multitask.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.
• Valet experience preferred; training provided for enthusiastic candidates.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Use a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo interiors.
• Work with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Comply with health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment; report defects and follow PPE guidance.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Complete a daily record of work performed.
• Assist with other duties to support the branch.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join our Mazda/Fiat/Abarth branch in Aberdeen.

Hours

Temporary 4 month contract

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
