Job summary

Arnold Clark in Edinburgh Seafield is seeking a motivated Driver/Valeter to ensure vehicles are presented in top condition. The role suits someone who enjoys physical work, has strong attention to detail and works well in a team.

You will clean sold and stock vehicles, use a pressure washer, vacuum interiors, and buff bodies, while following safety procedures. The position is full-time, with standard Monday to Friday hours and Saturdays on rotation.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy workshop.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean vehicles to high standard, both interior and exterior.
• Operate pressure washer and vacuum to prep vehicles.
• Polish/buff bodywork and maintain equipment safely.
• Record daily work and meet branch targets.
• Assist with other duties to support the service centre.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition. This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
