Job Description

We are recruiting for a Driver Trainer at our Market Drayton Depot within the Müller Milk and Ingredients Distribution (MMiD) business. The primary objective is to promote best practices in logistics, driver training, and development, maintaining high standards and supporting our transport teams to meet logistics benchmarks. Our goal is to establish a best-in-class, industry-leading, safe, and compliant driver training and licensing program, supported by structured training, support, and development.

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Location: Market Drayton Depot, TF9 3UY

Shift Patterns:

• 6 on 2 off (start and finish times vary, approximately 47.5 hours per week)

Flexibility of the above shift pattern can be discussed during the interview.

Salary: £15.88 per hour plus premiums

• Overtime paid at x1.125 basic rate
• Saturday at x1.125 basic rate, Sunday at 1.5 basic rate
• Additional 14.25% uplift for unsociable hours (between 6 PM and 4 AM)
• Public Holidays at x1.5

Weekly paid, with a planned transition to monthly pay during 2025/2026.

Primary Focus of Driver Trainer:

Supporting all areas of driver development and training, including but not limited to:

• DCPC Delivery
• Fuel-efficient driving
• Driver compliance
• Post-accident fault rectification
• Measuring and targeting improvements against KPIs

Key Skills & Experience:

• Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Effective team player with initiative

• HGV Class 1 Licence (LGV C+E)
• Current CPC and digital driving card
• No more than 6 minor points on driving license (no CDs, DDs, DRs, or INs)

Role & Responsibilities:

• Pre-employment driver assessments
• Supporting health and safety culture and campaigns
• Supporting safety roadshows, driver forums, and events
• Delivering driver development and training, including safe and fuel-efficient driving
• Supporting driver CPC training requirements
• Delivering induction and ongoing driver training, including vehicle familiarization and manual handling
• Ensuring compliance with procedures and GDPR
• Supporting company safety processes and documentation
• Ensuring driver licenses are valid and up to date
• Maintaining accurate data in compliance systems
• Supporting remedial actions for infringements and accidents
• Effective communication with compliance and transport teams
• Risk assessments of routes and locations
