Job description

Logistics done differently.

We’re looking for a full-time, permanent Driver Trainer to join us in Hatfield, working on our prestigious Arla contract. As well as carrying out the day-to-day duties of a Driver Trainer, you’ll play a vital part in ongoing driver development and training, new driver assessments, as well as aiding the team in getting deliveries made when needed. You will be working Tuesday to Saturday shifts.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer an annual salary up to £40,000 per annum, dependent upon experience. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  1. Assess new drivers, advising on techniques to improve fuel efficiency and overall safety.
  2. Assist in the creation and implementation of an on-site safe driving program.
  3. Occasional deliveries to customer sites.
  4. Deliver continuous training to existing driving staff on new policies and procedures.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  1. A clean UK driving licence (with category C+E entitlement), valid driver CPC, and digital tachograph card.
  2. Previous experience as a driver trainer/assessor desirable.
  3. Must be fully aware of all current tachograph rules and regulations including WTD.
  4. Confidence in the use of IT, especially Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel.
