Qualifications

  • Fully competent driver with a clean driving license.
  • C1E license preferred, minimum 3.5 Tonne (Class B).

About The Role

In the role of Driver Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the operational delivery of the Safety and Communications business. You'll travel regularly to different locations, responsible for the delivery and collection of Safety and Communications hire equipment, and demonstrating the technical equipment in operation to customers. As the face of Sunbelt Rentals to our customers, you will always be well presented, able to communicate professionally on site, and promote the positive image of the business.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and collecting equipment to customers, completing relevant checks and administration
  • Ensuring all company vehicles are driven safely and professionally, conducting vehicle safety checks
  • Issuing safety and communication equipment to clients onsite
  • Demonstrating safety equipment in operation during delivery
  • Diagnosing and fixing equipment as needed
  • Promoting health and safety and ensuring equipment standards compliance
  • Maintaining effective relationships within the operations team
  • Undertaking pre-hire checks and functionality tests to support branch workloads
  • Enhancing Sunbelt Rentals' profile through a professional attitude
  • Completing all reporting and administration in line with company standards
  • Achieving key performance indicators in a fast-paced environment
  • Working under pressure while maintaining safety standards
  • Promoting all Sunbelt Rentals services and benefits to clients, aiming for additional revenue
  • Working with operations to resolve customer issues promptly
  • Conducting audit and compliance tasks

Requirements for the Driver Technician role include:

  • A fully competent driver with a clean driving license
  • Preferably a C1E license; minimum 3.5 Tonne (Class B)
  • Good communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
  • Numerate, articulate, with attention to detail
  • Flexible working hours, including early starts and late finishes
  • A safety-first approach, compliant with current H&S legislation and policies
  • Experience in Safety and Communication is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to develop product knowledge and understanding of the wider business
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with internal and external customers
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
