Driver Supervisor – HPC Waste Contract
The Driver Supervisor will support the daily operations of the HPC waste management contract, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations, site permits, and environmental legislation, while consistently meeting contractual and performance targets.
This role involves the active supervision of site operatives and the day-to-day oversight of frontline operations at the Waste Consolidation Centre. The Driver Supervisor will play a key role in building a cohesive and motivated team of driver operatives, promoting a positive and productive work environment. A strong focus on operational efficiency, safety standards, and team leadership is essential to drive performance and maintain compliance.
Your core responsibilities
· Lead and supervise driver operatives and machine operators to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant daily operations.
· Manage team performance, including training, development, absence, and disciplinary processes.
· Oversee mobile plant operations, coordinating maintenance and liaising with suppliers for breakdowns and servicing.
· Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental legislation, and site permit requirements.
· Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and lead on incident reporting, near-miss investigations, and emergency response.
· Support operational efficiency and cost control by improving processes, managing resources, and meeting budget targets.
· Promote correct waste segregation and recycling practices, assisting contractors and clients while supporting project KPIs.
· Deputise for the Operations Manager and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
