Salary: £54,048 per annum + Excellent Benefits!

We are now recruiting for a Driver Manager to join our Operations Department.


The Driver Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all drivers at MML, ensuring that drivers perform their duties in accordance with MML standards, policies, and procedures.


Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the team of drivers to inspire motivation
  • Promoting continuous improvement within the driving team
  • Updating and maintaining late notice cases and weekly traffic circulars
  • Escalating issues to the Head of Operations and Safety
  • Managing the rostering software for creating and managing team rosters and duty lists
  • Collaborating with the Training Academy to review and improve driver training
  • Hosting Driver Assistance Panels to improve driver learning and operational processes
  • Conducting 1-2-1s and PDPs with tram drivers
  • Managing ER cases with support from HR
  • Undertaking sickness meetings and managing staff return-to-work in line with MML Medical Standards
  • Developing driver-related statistics for presentation to the leadership team
  • Collaborating with the commercial team and partners to improve commercial performance

Requirements for success:

  • Proven experience managing a large team
  • Experience in a Light Rail or safety-critical environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • At least 2 GCSEs at grade C or above
  • Level 3 or 4 in Leadership Management or equivalent qualification
  • Willingness to undertake drug and alcohol testing as per company policy

Desirable: A degree in leadership or business management.
