Job summary

Cherwell District Council is recruiting three full-time Driver Labourer positions at Thorpe Lane Depot, Banbury and Highfield Depot, Bicester as part of the Street Cleansing team. The roles are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and bank holiday cover.

Applicants must hold a full driving licence and be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including walking long distances and lifting heavy materials, in all weather conditions.

The Job:

We are looking to recruit to three full time Driver Labourer positions working out of our Thorpe Lane Depot, Banbury and our Highfield Depot, Bicester. The roles are to join our Street Cleansing team who provide a high quality, reliable and cost-effective service across the Cherwell District.

This safety critical role is physically demanding, and applicants must be able to walk long distances, lift heavy materials, work outside in all conditions and be able to work with minimum supervision, experience of similar work would be an advantage. It is an essential requirement to hold a full driving licence.

Full Time Street Cleansing operatives work 37 hours across Monday to Friday, and you will also be required to occasionally provide weekend and bank holiday cover as per the weekend rota.

The Person:
