Want to start a career as a commercial driver but don’t have your CDL yet? Waste Connections is offering a rare opportunity to earn your CDL with company-paid training for motivated individuals ready to work and grow.

We pay for your CDL training, give you hands-on experience with certified driver trainers, and jump start a long-term career at Waste Connections. After earning your CDL, you’ll join our Monroe, LA team as a CDL Driver.

What You'll Do

Learn driving rules, safety, and how to operate garbage trucks through hands-on and classroom training

Ride along with experienced drivers and see what the job is all about

Assist with pre-trip inspections, vehicle upkeep, loading/unloading

Practice key skills like backing up, turning, and safe driving techniques

Work through training modules and prep for the CDL test

Keep track of your training progress

Follow company policies and safety rules

Communicate with trainers and your team

What You Need to Get Started

Ability to pass DOT physical exam and drug/alcohol screenings.

Able to lift and move heavy items as needed

Flexible schedule – including weekends/holidays when needed

Team player who listens and follows instructions

Must be 21 years old or older

Must earn your CDL within 90 days of hire
