FacilitiesTransport Services are looking to recruit full time Heavy Goods Vehicle ClassC Driver or a Public Service Vehicle Class D Driver to help deliver afriendly, prompt and professional service on behalf of Leeds TeachingHospitals NHS Trust. Principal duties may involve the transportation ofwaste, staff, goods and other various tasks around Trust sites andnationally.
Applicantsmust have good communication skills, a good geographical knowledge of Leedsand Nationwide and must be able to work effectively in a service focusedenvironment. There is also a significant manual handling element andcollection of bulk items attached to this post, plus other associated tasks,but training will be provided for these.
Pleasebe aware the post will require the applicant to work 37.50hrs a week, days,rotational shift patterns, which can include weekends and bank holidays, in adynamic and fast moving environment so a flexible working attitude isessential to the role.

Thepost holder will be expected to have basic knowledge of a number ofadministrative and operational functions and utilise both facilities and LTHTIT systems in order to complete their job role. The nature of the role requires the use ofresponding to some tasks via a defined communication system.
Adheringto standards and practices in Trust Policy and facilitiespractices/procedural manuals alongside national initiatives, to ensure that asafe and clean environment is provided for patients.
Tobe a point of contact for patients and other visitors to the Trust andprovide a warm friendly welcome offering directions, support andassistance.

2. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Thepost holder is member of the facilities operational team and will beresponsible for carrying out any duties commensurate with the Ensure an adequate supply ofitems/equipment necessary for the role are maintained.
Ensure that all duties are carriedout in line with quality control procedures using standard facilitiesdocumentation.
To ensure that the correct uniformand PPE is worn at all times whilst on duty.
Provide advice to patients,relatives, other staff relating to security/safety of others in a conflictsituation
Receipt of incomingdeliveries/goods/products ensuring that all goods inwards are checked againstdelivery notes and official orders. Ensuring that items meet quality andquantity specified and any good specific requirements.
The collection and deliverymovement of patients, staff, food, goods, blood products, clinic notes, postand pharmacy to all wards and departments.
The removal of waste carts todesignated areas in line with Trust Policy.
The transfer of deceased patientsfrom wards to the mortuary.
To use the departments mobilecommunication system which coordinates the daily tasks which requireundertaking.
The good housekeeping of thehospital/work environment and equipment internally/externally related to thespecific job role using approved methods and equipment/mechanical aids tonational/Trust standards to ensure that a professional image is maintained atall times.
Operation and minor maintenance ofall equipment necessary for the role to be used in compliance with standardoperating procedures
To undertake the duties of any ofthe specific job role ensuring that all the procedures, correct practices areadhered resulting in excellent patient satisfaction.
Ensuring all communications areresponded to in an efficient/timely manner.
To follow all local methodstatements & risk assessments to ensure that the role is undertaken in asafe, secure manner.
Act on feedback given from anyquality assurance system
Communication with allied healthprofessionals/trust staff members to ensure that the patients health andwellbeing is being maintained in helping to deliver excellent clinicaloutcomes.
To report anyfaults/issues/complaints regarding service provision or equipment immediatelyto the supervisor or other appropriate senior Trust staff member
To complete and record rolespecific data/information either electronically or in written format that isrequired complying with operational procedures or local/Trust/National policyand audit recommendations/controls.
To provide a warm professionwelcome and supportive communication to patients and visitors to the Trust,providing an efficient and courteous service.
Use and maintain any role specificdatabases/hardware/software, in accordance with departmental guidelines.
To ensure that requests forinformation are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
To organise and sort goods/items inan effectively manner for distribution across the Trust sites according toschedules.
To deputise when required for theFacilities Supervisors
The job may require other duties tobe carried out as may reasonably be requested by line management commensuratewith the grade of the post.

Thejobholder must comply at all times with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHSTrust Infection Control policies, in particular by practising UniversalInfection Control Precautions. Hand hygiene must be performed before andafter contact with patients and their environment.
