The role
As a Driver - Handler, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will assist in the ground movement of aircraft and be a key part in our flight-line operations. You’ll be preparing aircraft for the upcoming days flying, conducting see-in and see-off procedures as well as being authorised to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft.

Day-to-day, reporting to the Site Operations Manager / Regional Transport Supervisor or nominated deputy, you’ll undertake aircraft ground handling and driving duties as required by the Contract as well as the conducting of routine vehicle maintenance and checks required to ensure vehicle safety and compliance to support flying operations; which includes control of all vehicle related administration within bounds of responsibility.
On occasion you may be asked to support other elements of the Contract not normally conducted in the advertised role.

This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Woodvale.

Essential experience of the Driver / Aircraft Ground Handler:
• Previously held a similar role and have a working knowledge of DVSA / Dangerous Goods administration requirements.
• Previously worked in an environment that enabled a working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements.
• Experience of working within a military environment.
• Experience of handling aircraft in a military or civilian CAA Pt 145 environment.

Qualifications for the Driver / Aircraft Ground Handler:
• Grob 115E Ground Handling Course (candidates who do not hold competence may still be considered).
• Check A course. (candidates who do not hold competence may still be considered).
• PSV, LGV, & ADR Qualified (candidates who do not hold all licenses may still be considered but will be required to drive each of these licence categories after any necessary training).

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain enhanced DBS & Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
