Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is looking for a practical and reliable Driver Support to join the Logistics Team in Gloucester. The role involves driving, basic vehicle maintenance and workshop support to ensure equipment is delivered, collected and ready for use.

You will work as part of the Logistics Team, maintaining high standards and accurate records, with a mix of independent and collaborative work, contributing to a countywide service.

Qualifications

• Experience of driving vehicles.
• Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance or repairs.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
• Respect for health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting medical equipment between GELS sites.
• Assisting with equipment recovery and vehicle changeovers.
• Carrying out basic vehicle maintenance tasks (top up fluids, replace bulbs).
• Cleaning and inspecting vehicles to maintain high standards.
• Maintaining records using paper and electronic systems.
