Job summary

The Felix Project is seeking a Driver/Depot Assistant for the Southern Central team based near Totton. You will support warehouse operations, drive a van, and help organise daily food deliveries and collections to ensure safe, on-time distribution of surplus food to partners and communities.

This permanent, 35-hour-a-week role requires a clean UK driving licence, the right to work in the UK, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

Must have the right to work in the UK and a valid driving license.
Experience driving vans / medium sized vehicles and multi-drop deliveries.
Experience in a food distribution and/or warehousing operation is a plus.
Experience using Sat Nav to navigate and plan routes.
Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload.

Responsibilities

Get to know your team and respond to questions about Felix’s mission and partners.
Work with Warehouse Manager and volunteers to plan and supervise shifts.
Ensure compliance with Felix policies and industry standards by staff and volunteers.
Assist in organizing food distribution using Felix systems and training volunteers.
Maintain good relations with volunteers, staff, suppliers and charities.
Load the van and check roadworthiness; understand planned routes.
Drive safely, courteously and within the law.
Complete paperwork and checks to ensure food safety.
