Job summary

DHL Supply Chain at Manton Wood is recruiting a Class 1 HGV Tramper Driver on a permanent, full-time basis. The role follows a 4 on, 4 off tramp pattern, with start times including 12am–6am. You will deliver palletised goods, strap loads, and drive safely in line with regulations.

Prerequisites include a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E), Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Overnight stays in sleeper cab are possible during shifts. Competitive pension and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 driving licence (C+E).
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Willingness to work 4 on, 4 off tramp shifts, including overnight stays in sleeper cab.
• Able to perform manual handling and load securing as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver palletised goods to warehouses with 1–3 drops per day.
• Strap and secure loads; occasional use of pallet truck.
• Drive safely and efficiently in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Delivering palletised goods to warehouses and RDC's - between 1 and 3 drops per day
• Strapping and securing the load, occasional tipping through use of manual pallet truck
• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Willingness and ability to work a tramping shift pattern, including overnight stays in the vehicle's sleeper cab
• Are comfortable with manual handling - strapping/securing loads and occasional use of manual pallet truck
