Job summary

Nursery Kitchen in Basildon is seeking a reliable Van Driver to support the smooth delivery of nutritious meals to nursery settings. You will handle loading/unloading, ensure cold-chain compliance, and use handheld systems to confirm deliveries with a focus on customer service.

The role is full-time with 10-hour shifts Mon-Thu and occasional Friday shifts, offering a competitive basic salary plus a 5% AM shift premium. UK driving licence and 3+ years delivery experience required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years delivery driving experience.
• Full UK Driving licence.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Confident driving in London and on longer distance routes.
• Ability to follow planned delivery routes and work independently.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Reliable, punctual and dependable.
• Genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Can-do attitude and self-motivation are essential.
• Previous experience in food delivery or a food production environment (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Deliver freshly prepared meals to nursery settings according to daily delivery schedules.
• Load and unload chilled and ambient food products safely and efficiently.
• Ensure products are transported and delivered in line with food safety requirements.
• Use handheld devices to confirm deliveries and obtain proof of delivery.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and hygiene.
• Follow all company policies and health & safety regulations.
• Build positive relationships with nursery staff and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with basic kitchen or picking and packing duties when required.
• Return empty totes after deliveries.

The Role:

As a key member of our team, you will help support the smooth operation of our delivery service, maintaining high standards of food safety, customer service and professionalism while helping us provide nutritious meals to children across our nursery partners.

This is a full time role, typically working 10-hour shifts between Monday and Thursday, with occasional Friday shifts available to support business requirements.The role offers a competitive basic salary plus a shift premium of 5% for AM shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
