What You’ll Do:

Safely transport a range of healthcare items including:

Histology, pathology, and blood samples

Medical records, x-rays, and confidential waste

Clean and used surgical instruments

Mail, parcels, medical equipment, and controlled drugs

Clean/used laundry and pharmacy products

Deliver and install medical equipment (e.g. beds) to patients’ homes

Support portering duties when required

Handle ad-hoc transport and collection requests with professionalism

Use all vehicles and equipment in line with Sodexo and NHS safety procedures

Ensure daily vehicle checks, cleanliness, and accurate reporting of defects

Maintain confidentiality and data protection in line with Trust and Sodexo policies

Support service operations during major incidents or adverse conditions

Comply with all relevant regulations including COSHH, HSE, and Carriage of Dangerous Goods

What You Bring:

Full, clean UK driving licence

Knowledge of local area and ability to follow routes

Basic literacy and numeracy

Experience in a driving role

Physically able to carry out manual handling duties

Ability to work in all weather conditions and undertake flexible shifts

Strong team player with a professional and respectful approach

Committed to health and safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality

Experience with larger vehicles (e.g. vans or minibuses)

Familiarity with NHS sites or medical terminology

Previous experience in healthcare logistics or transport
